Title of Walk and Brief Description

Church Bafurlong – Walk around Down Hatherley and Bamfurlong, views of Staverton Airport, 6 stiles. Downloads: Map also gpx file

Birdlip, cobberley-Cowley – Walk though Cobberley and Cowley villages.

Bus out to Bishopswood – Bus No. 35 Coleford – Monmouth. Leaves Cantilupe Road
9.30am. We will catch it at 9.37am at Tudorville. Walk from Bishopswood, contouring around Leys Hill. Past Coughton (drained) Marsh and “The Homme”. Then back to Fernbank. 12 stiles, 4 of which are step-through on two bridges. 2 short steep climbs, one with steps. Downloads: Map also gpx file

Wilton to Ross Bus station – 5929 2401, From Wilton Car park along river up to Cantilupe

Caldicot & Severn Estuary – The route goes under the newer Severn Bridge and it can be
seen from a lot of angles. Great views of the Estuary including the older Severn Bridge and as far as Exmoor on a clear day. We go past the (free) Estuary Railway Tunnel.

Churchdown Chosen Hill – Steady walk up Tinkers hill, Chosen hill with coffee stop at the church at the top. Downloads: Map also gpx file

Churchdown – A pleasant route with an interesting mix of green corridors and a tunnel through Elmbridge and Longlevens and along part of the Gloucester Way. 5 stiles.

Ganarew & Welsh/English Border – Walk past Arthur’s cave and up to the hill fort and then downhill to Ganarew. Steady climb onto the English/Welsh border and along Goldsmiths woods. Gloucester Canal – A very interesting flat walk visiting the Docks and Llanthony Priory (Secunda). Along the Severn Way and back along the Canal. 3 stiles.

Gloucester Robinswood Hill Park – Follow some of the trails, e.g. Geology & Woodland and into the surrounding countryside past the Dry Ski Slope. Great views including Gloucester Cathedral. Plenty of stiles. Downloads: Map also gpx file

Hay-on-Wye – Bus and Walk – From arriving at Hay Castle, 1hr 35mins to walk past the market and bookshops etc. for picnic at the river (optional) and back before the bus to Hereford leaves. Feel free to browse the Market and book shops on your own. Arrive back at Wilton 16.35. (There is an option to catch an earlier bus to Ross but it has very tight deadlines. Gloucester Hempstead – A very interesting, easy walk visiting Gloucester Docks, Llanthony Secunda Priory and Ladywell. 3 Stiles. Downloads: Map also gpx file

Hereford City NE – Using “cut through” (Ginnels) of Hereford City, north past lots of Hereford city heritage sites, including parks, nature reserves and industrial estate.

Hereford NE Aylestone Park Hereford (duplicate Shelwick) – Along commons lane meadows, over miniature railway track & past Withergton. Downloads: Map also gpx file

Hereford NE Shelwick – Amble north through Lugg Meadows past streams, rivers and lake. Good views top Lyde hill . Downloads: Map also gpx file

Hereford NW Bobblestock – Walk past Racecourse, cider museum and Bulmer’s.

Hom Green, Walford, Bull Hill, Coughton – Starting Hom Green, out to Walford, up to Bull Hill and Back through Coughton. Downloads: Map also gpx file

Churchdown Innsworth – An interesting mix of green corridors, tunnels and the Gloucestershire Way through a Golf Course and passing Staverton Airport around Innsworth with 5 stiles. Downloads: Map also gpx file

Knoskalls Triangle (Staunton) – Three Village triangle, Newland, Upper Redbrook and Staunton. 15 stiles. Downloads: Map also gpx file

Lydney Harbour – Around Hurst Farm, along Severn Estuary to the Harbour and
Canal. Very interesting views. Holes are drilled in Rocks to direct gaze. 4 stiles and two bridges with step throughs on them. Downloads: Map also gpx file

Morten Valance – through grounds Frampton court, crossing the Frome river and
part of the Stroud water canal to Morten valance, back via Saul Marina and Glos canal. Downloads: Map also gpx file

Odda’s Chapel & Deerhurst – Through Deerhurst to Coombe Hill disused canal and Nature Reserve. Back through Apperley and along the River Severn. Top end grade 2 with 12 stiles. Downloads: Map also gpx file
