Welcome to the Ross & District Walking Group
Covid-19 – latest – As of 5th January the walks programme has been suspended until further notice. You may submit walks for dates from mid-February but obviously it depends on when lockdown ends.
We are planning a Zoom AGM for 8th April 2021, further details to follow
If you want to share your lockdown photographs please send them to email@example.com
I’ve started the collection with some pictures I took this morning
Walks archive has been updated to 2020 walks
We’ve been going for over 30 years and currently have some 120 members. Typically walks take place twice a week and range from 3 to 10 miles and from easy to hard.
The rendevous is Wilton car park (unless stated otherwise) and members share cars to get to the start point of the walk. Therefore, you don’t need a car, just turn up at Wilton car park about 15 minutes before the ‘depart’ time shown in the programme. We always stop for a coffee break and mostly have either a picnic or pub lunch. The size of individual groups varies but is usually 8 to 20 walkers. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed on the walks. In addition to regular walks the group meets from time to time for various social events and there is usually at least one walking weekend away somewhere each year.
